Paola LANZAFAME, born in Messina on 10/07/76, is a researcher in Industrial Chemistry at the University of Messina. She received her Ph.D. degree in Materials Engineering and Chemistry at the University of Messina in 2006. She has participated in several Italian and European research projects and has also worked directly with the management of the European Network of Excellence on Catalysis IDECAT ( Integrated Design of Catalytic Nanomaterials for Sustainable Production). She was responsible for UNIME / CASPE in the project WAVES (ERA-NET CAPITA) and the development of catalysts in the PRIN 2010-2011 project "Innovative processes for conversion of algal biomass for the production of jet fuel and green diesel."
The specific expertise is in the synthesis and characterization of mixed oxides, supported nanostructured carbon nanotubes (nanotubes and nanofibres), and micro- and meso-porous materials containing transition metals. She also has experience in evaluating the catalytic behavior of these materials for processes in the chemical and sustainable energy sector.
She is author of 36 scientific publications and book chapters, with h-index 13 and over 600 citations (Google Scholar).
